Stampede in Khatu Shyam monthly fair, death of three women devotees
In Rajasthan's famous Khatushyamji, a stampede broke out on Monday morning in the monthly fair of Baba Shyam's Ekadashi, in which 3 women devotees died.
Devotees were queuing for darshan since night and as soon as the entrance of the temple opened at 5 in the morning, the pressure of the crowd increased and people started pushing. In this chaos, three female Shyam devotees died as well as many devotees were injured.
One of the women who lost her life in the accident was from Hisar, while the identity of two others has not been ascertained. On getting information about the incident, the police-administration reached the spot and started relief work.
Two people injured in the incident have been referred to Jaipur and one is undergoing treatment at Khatushyamji CHC near the temple. After the incident, the police has started investigating the matter.
It is worth noting that lakhs of devotees from all over the country come to Khatu to have darshan of Baba Shyam on every Ekadashi and Dwadashi of the month. Along with this, there is a huge crowd of devotees in Khatu on all Sundays of the month.
